CoHAS is a three-tier college consisting of five schools; Nursing and Midwifery, Medical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Optometry and Vision Science. Each schools with several academic departments. The college is responsible for developing and administering programmes related to the education of healthcare professionals. The School of Optometry and Vision Science took part in the 57th Congregation Ceremony on the 11th December, 2024, a grand celebration marking the academic and professional achievements of its graduating class. The ceremony, held at UCC NEC auditorium brought together faculty, students, families, and dignitaries to honor the hard work and dedication of the graduates.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to exceptional students who distinguished themselves in various fields of academic and professional excellence.

On behalf of Professor Elvis Ameyaw (The Dean), Dr Ernest Obese (The Vice-Dean), Mrs Esther Nimo (The Faculty Officer), all Faculty members, Staff and students of the School of Pharmacy, University of Cape Coast (UCC), we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Miss Manuella Coffie, a 500-level Pharmacy student, on her historic election as the first female President-elect of the Pharmaceutical Students Federation of Ghana.

Staff members of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) of the University of Cape Coast have received training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at a five-day workshop which took place on the 3rd-7th June, 2024 at the School of Graduate Studies, University of Cape Coast.

The training covered modules such as General Principles, Validation Master Plan, Quality and Validation of Facilities, as well as Cleaning Validation. The rest were Validation of Equipment, Process Validation and Method Validation.

The Dean's Award ceremony took place on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at the School of Medical Science (SMS) Auditorium, UCC. This event was organized to recognize and commend the top-performing pharmacy students and to inspire them to strive for excellence in future endeavors. Named in honor of the late Professor David Darko Obiri, the first Dean of the School of Pharmacy at UCC, the ceremony commemorated his legacy of dedication and commitment. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
