SCHOOL OF NURSING & MIDWIFERY
HISTORY OF SNM-UCC
The School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNM) is one of four (4) Schools in the College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS).The School was established in August 2014 after being a Department for some years under the School of Biological Sciences. Currently, the School has three (3) Departments: Maternal and Child Health Nursing, Adult Health Nursing, and Mental Health Nursing, with a total student population of one thousand, two hundred and twenty-nine (1,229), which is a combination of both regular and sandwich students. The School has a total of thirty-eight (38) staff comprising twenty-five (25) academic staff and thirteen (13) administrative staff.
The School is strategically positioned in the University of Cape Coast for the academic and professional development of not only professional nurses and midwives, but the capacity building of future generations of academics and scholars in the field of nursing and midwifery training and research.
