The School of Optometry and Vision Sciences (SOVS) at the University of Cape Coast has successfully held its maiden White Coat Ceremony, robing 55 Level 400 students as they officially transition into their clinical training phase in pursuit of becoming certified eye care professionals. A proud alumnus of Hope College, Gomoa Fetteh, Mr. Ankrah emerged as the overall top performer in the sub-region in the examination administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) has held its 2nd White Coat ceremony to mark the transition of 99 Pharmacy students into the clinical stage of their training. The White Coat ceremony is an integral part of Pharmacy education, emphasising the significance of the coat as the professional identity of Pharmacists and establishing defined expectations and responsibilities for students while still in training.

Staff members of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) of the University of Cape Coast have received training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at a five-day workshop which took place on the 3rd-7th June, 2024 at the School of Graduate Studies, University of Cape Coast.
The training covered modules such as General Principles, Validation Master Plan, Quality and Validation of Facilities, as well as Cleaning Validation. The rest were Validation of Equipment, Process Validation and Method Validation.
The Dean's Award ceremony took place on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at the School of Medical Science (SMS) Auditorium, UCC. This event was organized to recognize and commend the top-performing pharmacy students and to inspire them to strive for excellence in future endeavors. Named in honor of the late Professor David Darko Obiri, the first Dean of the School of Pharmacy at UCC, the ceremony commemorated his legacy of dedication and commitment. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
